Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Lucas Paletta (56 y) is a Doctor of Computer Science with a strong interest in assisted technologies in dementia care using eye-tracking, social robots, serious games and virtual reality / augmented reality (VR/AR) technologies, as well as AI-enabled prevention and mental and Behavioral And Psychological Symptoms (BPSD) – related assessment in dementia.

Dr. Paletta is head of the “Human Factors Lab” and Head of the Research Team “Cognitive Sensing and Interaction” at the Institute Digital of the Joanneum Research, Forschungsgesellschaft, Graz, Austria. He has 25 years of experience in research and development (R&D) of emerging technologies. For the last eleven years dr. Palleta is coordinating research projects on assisted technology for the elderly and is since 2015 specialised for dementia care. He is (co-)chair of the International Symposium series “Intelligent Digital Games for Empowering and Inclusion” and “Attention in Cognitive Systems”.
